Like my Battle of Belvoir Castle (1182) article, I gave this battle an arbitrary name. Historians don't consider it a battle per se, but there is no doubt that fighting took place. It could just as easily been given the name the "Campaign of 1183" or the "Battle of Ain Tuba'un (1183)." I opted for Al-Fule because I could precisely locate Afula in Israel. I'm not sure whether Ain Tuba'un is in the West Bank or Israel. The nearby Ain Jalut is in the West Bank.
