problems
[edit]The article contains a great deal of what appears to be original research unless citations can be provided. Even then, it makes several non-encyclopedic statements that amount to mind-reading concerning the thoughts of participants. At least one statement is of dubious factuality; Caesar did not defeat all the Gallic civitates in the Gallic Wars. Some of the Transalpine peoples were already under Roman rule; the article seems unaware of the existence of the Narbonensis, which was Caesar's lawful province. The Remi, a Belgic civitas, seem to have allied with Rome willingly, in order to overthrow the Suessiones as their rulers, and they adhered to their treaty even during the rebellion of Vercingetorix. There are other exceptions, but the point is that the article makes claims that are not supported by sources, or supported only by interpreting the primary text of the Bellum Gallicum. Mass migration?
[edit]At present the article states: Ariovistus crossed the Rhine with a confederation of Germanic tribes. And this suggests mass migration, although I'm not sure if anyone intended to suggest mass migration. In some cases, it's a reasonable model, in others, it's not, and a clearer explanation would help. 64.118.110.171 (talk) 00:11, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Gallic Wars Campaign Box?
[edit]Does anyone know what happened to Gallic Wars Campaign Box? It disappeared from all the individual battle pages. Chunterkap (talk) 02:08, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
