[edit]Perhaps other meanings of Bateleur should be added - e.g. the South African 127 mm Bateleur MLRS, the Bateleur light aircraft by RMT Aviation and perhaps a link to the existing article on the Bateleur UAV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denel_Aerospace_Systems_Bateleur) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.122.10.146 (talk) 02:54, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
BuggyMess (talk) 07:04, 16 October 2023 (UTC)My first thoughts on it was I wasn’t aware the bateleur eagle was an endangered species and upon going to datazone.birdlife.org a source I’ve used before for looking at various eagle species this appears to be the case. The article is very detailed and has interesting pictures of a male, female, immature, and skeleton of the bird. While the talk page is mostly empty the history page shows that the article has been updated relatively recently. Learning of the bateleurs breeding habits makes a lot of sense as to why they’re endangered as they mature slowly and breed slowly as well making them more like humans than a fast maturing and breeding species such as rabbits. I also found it baffling how no wide scale efforts have been made to help protect this species despite their status, I can only hope that with time others will come to recognize just how wonderful and beautiful this bird truly is.BuggyMess (talk) 07:04, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
