Demographic mistake
[edit]I've removed the following
"Males had a median income of $0 versus $56,167 for females."
Does anybody know the correct numbers? Also some of this looks like real estate advertising prose. It could use a clean-up. Smallbones 17:51, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- http://factfinder.census.gov says 100,000+ for males, rambot must not have known how to interpret that and put zero. --Dual Freq 22:03, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
"only recently annexed"???
[edit]A paragraph was just removed about St. john's Chapel. The arguement seems to be that this is in an area that was only recently annexed (when? that deserves to be in the article), so it's history is not BH's history. I don't like this arguement. It seems to say that the church is "not really" in Barrington Hills, but of course - according to the law - it is.
I'll revert, but that does not mean that I like the paragraph as is. Why don't we work on it rather than just remove it?

Townships in box
[edit]I'm trying to figure out how to put the right townships in the info box (difficult since there are 4 counties involved, but all townships have seperate articles.
S/B: townships = Barrington, Cuba, Algonquin, Dundee|
Well it works here, but not in the box. Smallbones (talk) 20:53, 19 February 2008 (UTC):
- Unfortunately I had to design the template with a convoluted method for specifying the township links. There are separate fields, tcounty - tcounty3, for specifying the counties in the links of the townships. I had to make it separate because there are some instances where a municipality might lay within two townships in the same county. Note that the first township field uses the county variable, but any additional townships uses tcounty-tcounty3. I hope i haven't confused you further. — oo64eva (Alex) (U | T | C) @ 04:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Zoning
[edit]The following was removed and I added it back.
- The zoning restrictions are sometimes interpreted as protecting the residents "from the lower classes."[1] The Zoning Ordinance of the Village was adopted in 1963 but the existence of equestrian farms predate the Village by decades.
I think this represents the majority view, even in the Village, and is solidly referenced. Perhaps there is a nicer way of saying it? Maybe we could call in a 3rd opinion if you disagree. Also I should ask if there is a COI here. All the best. Smallbones (talk) 16:19, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Notable residents???
[edit]we don't need full bios on the notable residents, that's what the links are for. I checked out the Tony Accardo article and it doesn't mention B.Hills as his residence. It definitely needs a citation, but it should be removed after a week or so if there isn't a citation.
Aren't there any other notable residents throughout history? Maybe Robert Abboud? I was thinking about the father, but I'll put it in anyway!

2 Frank Lloyd Wright houses
[edit]Just noticed that there are 2 Frank Lloyd Wright houses in the village (and another close by on Rt 22). The 2 in BH are
- Carl Post House (Marshall Erdman Prefab House) and
- Louis B. Frederick House
Should these be included? Does anybody know where they're located? Smallbones (talk) 20:06, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Question on Shopping Strip
[edit]My understanding is that the shopping strip on the north side of Route 14 is in Barrington, not Barrington Hills.
"There is no downtown center, but the village has a small shopping strip along Route 14." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.135.61.14 (talk) 03:09, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
