On their handle, I notice that Vogue says "the eponym ‘Barkaa’ was inspired by the name of her mother’s tribe, the Barkindji People of Far West New South Wales" Campbell 9 July 2021 which may not necessarily contradict the explanation "Barkaa takes her moniker from the Barkindji word for the Darling River)." in The Guardian interview cited here 29 Nov 2021 ~ cygnis insignis10:44, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
