"Accent"

[edit]

@Jonesey95, seems incorrect this is an accent as that is only about pronunciation. It was changed from "variety" (with the same sources) to "accent" in this edit by an ip but no change in sourcing. The two sources were added in this earlier edit alongside "variety". Nonetheless changed it to "accent" for consistency, if you're saying those sources state such. Fair enough. You can change it back if you want to. I was just restoring it to the way it was for a while, since I did not see any change in sourcing. I looked for those two sources and was unable to access either of them on-line to see what they actually say. The lead of this article has changed quite a bit, IMO for the worse, in the past few years. It used to be at least implied in the lead that Banglish was more of a patois or combination dialect than a variety of standard English that could be useful here on Wikipedia. We have ended up with the misleading {{Use Bangladeshi English}} template, one of many discussed recently at Template talk:EngvarB. – Jonesey95 (talk) 06:02, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
