Mir Baqi, commander of Babur in 935 AH?

[edit]

Inscriptions as published in the Epigraphia Indica, Arabic and Persian Supplement, 1965, pp. 58-62, describe Mir Baqi as, "a magnificent noble, name Mir Baqi, the second Asaf, councillor of his government and administrator of his kingdom..." Mir Baqi also finds mention in Babar's memoirs as his Governor of Ayodhya at exactly AH 935. (See, A.S. Beveridge's translation, 2, pp. 684-85, also p. 679).

The mention of Mir Baqi, in the introduction of this article as commander of Mughal Emperor Babur is contrary to what inscriptions say. Tamir Nazir (talk) 08:34, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The inscription is contested. See Baqi Tashqandi. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 09:19, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Even the "Contested Inscriptions" don't mention him as the Commander of Babur nor does Babar's memoirs? Tamir Nazir (talk) 07:24, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
