Assessment

[edit]

A little list-like. Could use some more prose, although overall a good start. Carom 05:16, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move/rename of article

[edit]

For consistency with other Australian military history articles I propose this article be moved/renamed to Military history of Australia during the 1991 Gulf War. Similar articles on World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War all follow this naming convention. Anotherclown (talk) 23:31, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The article on the Iraq War should also be moved. Nick-D (talk) 07:29, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Damask operations wrong

[edit]

Was doing some research on Operation Damask. Is the numbering and dates of the operations wrong? The first three (Damask I, II and III) seem to be correct, but it seems as though the dates for Damask IV are wrong. Since there were more Damask Operations, should we list each Damask operations? Also found evidence that Sydney was involved in Operation Damask IV, but its deployment was in 1991. I think the Damask section needs a touch up.

G'day, thanks for your work on improving this article. As the Operation Damask article redirects to this article, it probably does make sense to include all iterations here; but I don't usually work on naval history so I could be wrong. Re the dates - do you have a source that specifically states the dates for the deployment, or are you just going on the dates of when Sydney arrived and departed and extrapolating? I suspect that there might be some fudge factor here between the official dates of the operation and the dates when the vessel actually arrived and departed, but I could well be wrong. Adding an Infobox?

[edit]

Other military history articles have infoboxes. Do you think this article should have one? If so, how would this manifest?Tawdaya (talk) 01:57, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

G'day, I would suggest that it might be done in a manner similar to Operation Okra and Military history of Australia during the Vietnam War. I would suggest using {{Infobox military operation}}. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 02:24, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Military history of Australia during the Vietnam War which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 23:07, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
