Article rewrite
[edit]This article had a couple of versions:
- Marketplace at Austin Bluffs - which is a shopping center at the corner of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Academy. I'm not quite sure what makes this notable for a shopping center - it has standard plaza shops (grocery, hardware, restaurants, etc.). In addition, even though it's on Austin Bluffs Parkway, I'm not sure it's in Austin Bluffs, so I didn't add anything about the shopping center/plaza. See this version, after some edits were made
- The article was moved to Austin Bluffs, Colorado and rewritten with historical information, but there were several issues, so I rewrote this version. There were several problems with the article:
- It only used Colorado Springs Directories - and a map that didn't mention Austin Bluffs and was for area north of Austin Bluffs.
- There were unfounded assumptions made, like Austin Bluffs being named after F.H. Austin. However, it was named after Henry / H.W. Austin, as is cited.
- And there's no clear context for the F.H. Austin information.
- Some of the sources did not contain information that was being cited. For instance, the Scott map did not mention Austin Bluffs, nor show the boundaries for Austin Bluffs, for the geographical description.
- I am not seeing that there were "numerous" mines on/in Austin Bluffs.
- The Colorado Springs Country Club was and is in Templeton Gap.
- The annexation information is summarized in the current draft.
- Some information about the present use of Austin Bluffs is now included in the article (UCCS, Austin Bluffs Open Space).--CaroleHenson (talk) 22:56, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
