[edit]Is it right to refer to the 7 as a micro car as its a. Far older than the term and b. Would have been considered as a larger type of car at the time given the way cars have become bigger across the ranges.(Morcus (talk) 00:48, 15 April 2008 (UTC))
- Seeing as there were other, far larger and more powerful vehicles around at the time, micro-car can probably be justified. It definitely was not thought of as a larger type of car at the time - there was even a song written during the '30's (aptly named 'My Austin seven'), wich makes light jest of the size of the A7. I like to think of my A7 as the 1934 equivalent to a Smart.Charlski (talk) 19:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I would think minicar would be closer, but there are no concrete definitions. 86.4.152.167 (talk) 17:44, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- I've changed the class to "Subcompact" as I think "microcar" would equate more to "cyclecars" during this period. --Thefrood (talk) 15:51, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
1958 Cambridge University prank
[edit]In June 1958 an Austin Seven was winched overnight onto the roof of Cambridge University Senate House by a team of 12 university engineering students. The stunt was widely reported in the press at the time, and was re-enacted in June 2013: [1] Martinevans123 (talk) 19:32, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
