The first rock ballet?
[edit]A point of contention: As the article states, Astarte premiered on Sep 20, 1967. In 1966 (I haven't located the exact date yet) San Francisco Ballet premiered "Voyage Interdit" by Carlos Carvajal, with a live rock band onstage. I'm not a Wikipedia editor, and, frankly, I have neither the time nor the inclination to be one ... so I hope that someone else will research this. Dudley Brooks (talk) 05:21, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
I've run across some interesting material on the development of the ballet (see Talk:Joffrey_Ballet#Some_intriguing_material_about_summer_1967). I don't have time right now to follow through on this, but it looks like at least the bulk of the materials are available online, and I've provided a few specific references. - Jmabel | Talk 01:15, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
