Character Displaying On Web Browser
[edit]Looks like, Firefox & Internet Explorer web browser, rendering the U+21A8 unicode character wrongly. This character inside the next bracket (↨) is obtained through the hex html code ↨. But actual character looks like the character inside this bracket (). It is a "Up Down Arrow With Base". ~ Tarikash 07:50, 8 June 2006 (UTC).
History
[edit]If somebody could find some information about the history of the arrow, that would be really awesome. I was just wondering about it. ~Sartas Regem
Thats exactly why I went here, too... -- megA 18:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
For those looking for some history, consider looking into this discussion as a starting point: InfoD: History of the arrow. ~Unordained 2009/01/07 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.67.4.6 (talk) 19:05, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks - should some of this be included here? -- megA (talk) 14:38, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Mistake
[edit]I've recently swapped the physical symbol/text representations of ⇟ and ⇞ because they were backwards. There is likely a syntax error somewhere in this table that has been overlooked. It's really confusing... it seems like the problem might be within Firefox 3.0...
I fixed the problem for me but if these two symbols are now swapped on a different browser, please swap them back...TIM KLOSKE|TALK 17:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please add html sequences to the chart. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.47.102.179 (talk) 11:00, September 1, 2011
- Given the codepoint, you can obtain HTML sequences and other material from a dedicated reference like fileformat.info. ᛭ LokiClock (talk) 05:17, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
North West Arrow To Long Bar
[edit]The North West Arrow To Long Bar's image was altered to a different graphic perhaps for a different article. When this alteration occurred the image size went up to 99px. This new graphic doesn't quite look like the image that is rendered by browsers. Should the old graphic be restored?
Patrick McDougle (talk) 18:21, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- You mean, in the table: U+21B8 ↸ NORTH WEST ARROW TO LONG BAR. -DePiep (talk) 20:28, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- Original image restored. — Edokter (talk) — 22:55, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Arrows in other Unicode blocks
[edit]The arrow "➔" (U+2794 ➔ HEAVY WIDE-HEADED RIGHTWARDS ARROW) redirects to this article page. But while it is indeed an arrow, it falls under the Unicode block for Dingbats (see Dingbats). Either the arrow "➔" should redirect to that page, or this article should be expanded to include the other Unicode blocks in which arrows can be found, starting with {{Unicode chart Dingbats}}. Senator2029 (talk) 16:55, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Don't put too much importance on block names. They do never define or specify a character. They are more like a grouping idea for code point ranges. Clearly, arrows are scattered around in Unicode. So, as an answer I'd say: that single arrow from Dingbats should be on this page indeed, and other Dingbats arrows, but not necessarily the whole block they are in. -DePiep (talk) 19:08, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]In word ↻ just appears as a question mark in a box. Please help.
▼
[edit]we should list this somewhere it is also an arrow — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.145.17.42 (talk) 19:11, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- A citation in a reputable source would be needed to classify ▼ as an arrow. DRMcCreedy (talk) 20:51, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
Missing - directional arrow to signify coming towards you and going away from.
[edit]Two arrow symbols I was taught at university were:
"going away from you" = a circle with a cross in it. i.e. looks like the back end of an arrow going way from you.
"coming towards you" = a circle with a dot at the centre i.e looks like front pointy end of an arrow coming towards you. Bob Jacaranda (talk) 23:25, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
