Hi All! If anyone is checking this page regularly, I want to introduce myself. I'm Sarah and I work with Philip Morris International. I plan to make minor edits to numbers and fact-based content on my own, and I look forward to working with others on possible future content updates. I'm relatively new to editing, so please let me know where I've made any mistakes and how I can correct them in the future. Thanks a lot! Sarah at PMI (talk) 15:06, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
hi Sarah at PMI, editors take rather a dim view (as they should:)) of editors who work on articles with which they have a conflict of interest. if you believe PMI related articles need to be updated you shouldn't edit the article directly but make an edit request on the talkpage. Other editors can then verify the information (important to include appropriate sources) before the edits are made (if they are okay). This is especially important with articles on living people. As we are volunteers here on WP it may take some time before editors do this, please be patient, and don't make any changes yourself. thanks. Coolabahapple (talk) 15:00, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the response Coolabahapple. This is definitely the approach I've been taking with other pages so far, like the heat-not-burn tobacco page. I don't actually have any suggestions for change at the moment - I made a small correction to the categories on this page because Andre never worked for Philip Morris USA, only for Philip Morris International. I've assumed that super minor changes, like this or grammar edits, should be ok for me to make myself? If not, I'm happy to only mention everything in the talk page. I just don't want to waste people's time making small changes that don't change the content but just improve the reader experience. Thanks! Sarah at PMI (talk) 15:17, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi guys, I just wanted to flag an error on this page, as I have a COI.
In Andre's introduction, it states he is the "former CEO and current chairman". This is not the case, he is still the CEO of PMI. A succession plan has been announced, but not yet taken place. When it does, I'll flag it so that the page can be updated accordingly.
