Merger proposal
[edit]This Page Should be moved to AmeriCorps VISTA as that is its proper name -209.181.16.93 (talk) 18:14, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
seeing as these two articles cover the same entity they should probably be merged together--Shimonnyman (talk) 20:18, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. SteveChervitzTrutane (talk) 05:39, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Certainly as written now they are highly duplicative. The only reason I could imagine for two articles is whether they try to cover 1964-1993 and 1993- separately, but I'm not sure there is any good reason to divide things up that way. So I support the merge. Kingdon (talk) 11:32, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I also support this merge. I echo Kingdon's concern about the early years, but I believe that this can be handled in a merged article. —Ost (talk) 16:19, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
- Concern Persons looking for VISTA are typically interested in the War on Poverty and the history of the USA in the 1960s-1970s; people looking for AmeriCorps VISTA for contemporary politics. Perhaps the old VISTA article should have its name changed to "VISTA (1964-1993)", and then its synopsis could start this article? Kiefer.Wolfowitz 08:59, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Logo
[edit]I added the logo so it would be in there I am unaware of the way to make an info box which would be very helpful and would be the ideal place to put the logo I am going to try and figure it out but in the meantime if someone elses knows how before i figurte it out that would be wonderful--Shimonnyman (talk) 20:24, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
They should be seperate.
[edit]The original mission and demographics of the VISTA has changed since it has merged with AmeriCorps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.74.35.7 (talk) 19:55, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Clean-up needed
[edit]This article needs expansion and clarifications. The lede says it was JFK's plan, but the text says LBJ started it. I guess this means that JFK had planned to have it but the actual start was under LBJ. This should be clarified. Also, DT's actions and their consequences and what if any changes J. Biden made need to be added. After Jan 2025, any further action by DT will need to be added. In addition, numbers and impact need to be included.Kdammers (talk) 20:11, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
