Created the page. Been writing on it for a few days to put it in wikipedia as complete as possible from the beginning. I saw that it's marked with a tag "possible cut and paste move or recreation". Might be because I wrote it in a word-file in the past few days, and copy&pasted it into wikipedia's editor today. It's my own work, written for wikipedia.Mike300578 (talk) 15:40, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mike, I wouldn't worry too much. Bots auto-tag various pages for possible violations for humans to look at. In this case, looking over the page, I'd take you at your word. Thanks for adding the article and if you've any questions about how things work round here you can ask me on my user page. Valenciano (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest editing and promotional content/tone

[edit]

The article is written promotionally in terms of content and tone and needs significant clean up. About 90% of the article was written by the subject themself, Alexander Tuschinski, and a likely UPE/SPA who created the article. A bit of clean up has already occurred, but still 66% of the content was written by the subject themself, and the creator Mike300578 added 23% to the article. Also a few anonymous IP SPAs that may be connected based on evidence, added about 5%. This clearly seems to be one of a series of promotional articles surrounding Tuschinski, his work, and his family. For more context on the nature of the COI see: [1]. Netherzone (talk) 16:31, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While I'm not 100% convinced the original article falls under COI/paid (some of the articles in the list Netherzone links are on notable topics), the article had certainly become ridiculously bloated over time. I've hacked out some material -- feel free to selectively restore if you are not associated with Tuschinski -- but further pruning would probably be beneficial. I believe the subject is probably notable, but that notability is being obscured by all the overdetail, self-promotion and lack of detail on exactly which awards were won for which films. I have now explicitly warned ATuschinski that they must not edit the article directly again. Espresso Addict (talk) 02:32, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are his films notable?

[edit]

Several articles were created for his films, but it is uncertain if they are notable. These include: Gold.; Break-Up; Timeless; Menschenliebe, and there may be other film articles as well. Any thoughts on whether these should be redirected here? Netherzone (talk) 01:36, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
