Lord Carlile and List of Jewish jurists
[edit]Would anyone care to contribute to the discussion on the above page? Mr Lulu has repeatedly removed him from this list. - Poetlister 22:55, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
Name spelling
[edit]I think his name is spelt wrong, the Times Guide to the House of Commons 1983 has him down as Carlisle not Carlile. --Dovea 16:16, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- You mean his name is spelt wrong in the Times Guide to the House of Commons 1983? Everywhere else spells it without an "s" - see the refs given in the article, the Lib Dems or the House of Lords. JRawle (Talk) 21:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
"Lord Carlile of Berriew was married to Frances Carlile but left her when he had an affair in 2006. They have three daughters, and five grandchildren. He now lives with a female barrister.". There are no sources for this so I've moved here. Secretlondon 07:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
External Link Suggestion
[edit]Lord Carlile recently gave a lecture - 'Terrorism: Cold War or Bad Law?' - which I think gives a nice overview to him as a person, to his role as the independent reviewer, and to his political leanings: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/event.asp?PageId=45&EventId=737 I think that this would be a great addition to this page. - There might be a deemed conflict-of-interest if I put it up (associated, as I am, with Gresham College), but I will do if people agree that it's a good link... Activities on behalf of elderly nhs patients
[edit]Should include this, as he was heavily involved in stopping the deliberate murder of elderly patients by non consensual dehydration and starvation in NHS hospitals and care homes across the UK. Probably his most noteable achievement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.77.5.17 (talk) 00:44, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
Error in link
[edit]When the link at "philip katz QC" is clicked, you are directed to a page for a different person, "phil Katz". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.99.9.1 (talk) 15:56, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Lawebask
[edit]Lawebask is an SPA that is repeatedly adding the following text:
"On 11th May and 6th June 2011, Lord Carlile held a follow-on Public Inquiry in the House of Lords. He put together an expert panel to advise and to give evidence to the Inquiry. This expert panel who gave both written and oral evidence consisted of Nick Hardwick (Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons), Paul Cook (G4S children's services), Eric Baskind (British Self Defence Governing Body, Liverpool John Moores University), Malcolm Stevens (JusticeCare Solutions), Laura Janes (Howard League for Penal Reform), John Drew (Youth Justice Board for England and Wales), Sue Berelowitz (Office of the Children's Commissioner) and Carolyne Willow (CRAE).[1]"
Despite concerns, he/she is making no attempt to discuss the matter. Thoughts re: suitability? --Ckatzchatspy 18:12, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
