I can't find anything to prove this product's existence. -User:Kushboy 9:37 July 9, 2005

Eh, try http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/main.html

Somebody, please confirm which windows operating systems this support. I wasted money on the Premiere Pro simply because nobody bothered to include the information "XP only". Do not judge the world by american standards. -Izaak I am also a prey on this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greatness Jubilee (talkcontribs) 16:41, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adobe says it's for XP in the system requirements. I think what should be added to this article is that the program requires a CPU that supports SSE2. I didn't know about that until I tried to install on a PC with an Athlon T-Bird, which was made before SSE2. Python 06:04, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, Wikipedia doesn't have to be correct, it just wants, and tries its very best to be. Second of all, How did the article "judge the world by american standards"? I reviewed it and it seems to be NPOV, maybe a little unclear though. Perhaps you may not be a very technical user? If so, I suggest requesting more clarifications in articles, as it would help put Wikipedia in clearer English when possible. If not, no offense. Third, instruction sets are the bane to older computers. I suggest upgrading. If you cannot... well, theirs always server end software for as long as you have a web browser that can support it. That should prolong the usefulness of many old computers for many, many years. - 68.228.56.158 19:52, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Version 3.0.2

[edit]

It was stated as being for Vista 32 bit only which is an inaccurate statement, the actual statement from the Adobe site is:

The Adobe® Premiere® Elements 3.0.2 update provides compatibility with Microsoft Windows

Vista™ (32 bit versions only) and includes the following improvements for use on both

Windows® XP and Windows Vista. --- Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0.2 update

From personal experience I know it works on XP 32 and 64 bit platforms - Mikeburns 23:14, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Folks, this app is not limited to 99 tracks. Please stop removing "unlimited tracks." If you don't believe me or the citation I provided last time around, try it yourself. I just did, and it goes way up over 100 tracks. Of course, proving it's unlimited would take a while...but there certainly is no 99 track limit. And if you can't test this because you don't actually have the software yourself then you shouldn't be editing the page to say something you can't confirm. 216.152.186.20 (talk) 17:45, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Version 7

[edit]

http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/

Version 7 is out. There doesn't seem to be a version 5 or 6 though, and I've had trouble trying to find out any details about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.73.167.157 (talk) 19:12, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the numbers 5 and 6 were skipped to catch up to the version number for Photoshop Elements. LK (t|c) 22:49, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have added this version to the Product History section. LK (t|c) 23:01, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The first poster in this was somewhat premature in declaring "it's out". It is still being offered for "pre-order" as of today and I'm struggling to see confirmation of a release date on the Adobe website, even whether it is Sep or Oct. I have modified the article to make this clear. Halsteadk (talk) 20:12, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To update the bit I've crossed out, Amazon US are quoting 15 October, Amazon UK 13 October availability. Not a primary or ideal source, but reasonably authoritative. I've included this as a ref alongside "October 2008" - please improve if you have a better ref, preferably from Adobe! Halsteadk (talk) 20:17, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK. The Adobe website is accepting pre-orders and says it will ship by the end of September. If I can find a specific reference, I'll change it. LK (t|c) 20:51, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Horrible article

[edit]

The article is written in broken English, with no evidence of proper punctuation, grammar, or capitalization. Also, when describing Version 1.0, it says "It was codenamed Dick Tracy after Adobe Premiere's theme of detective code names." First of all, if this uncited sentence is true, it should say "codenamed Dick Tracy FOLLOWING/USING/KEEPING IN LINE WITH Adobe Premiere's theme of detective code names", otherwise the author is saying that it was named after a theme. More importantly though, how can a theme of detective code names have been established for this particular product line, if this is the first version of this product??? Finally, how is the codename of the first version notable to someone reading about the product?

Just a carelessly written article. I don't know enough about the product line to edit the article, but I can see the above glaring errors. 99.98.221.223 (talk) 00:41, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the drive-by complaint, I'm sure it is really appreciated by everyone. You may not know much about the subject, but you could surely do something about the punctuation, grammar and capitalization rather than just moaning about it?
