I am writing to ask you to help in removing incorrect, malicious and false information from a page in my name ^[1]

What I think should be changed: This information should be removed: On 4 September 2024, Demetja took part in the intimidation and physical assault of journalist and curator Vincent W.J. van Gerven Oei by artist Driant Zeneli. The event was widely reported in the Albanian media[4] and denounced by international organizations for media freedom.[5][6]

Why it should be changed: Because it is incorrect and malicious information from unreliable sources. As a reference is gives this article here ^[2], which is published in one news portal from 900 news portals registered in Albania. The Albania Union of Journalists reported in 2022 a sharp increase in the number of complaints of disinformation and personal attacks by online outlets ^[3]. Which is as well the case with this article published in this portal, as it is the insistence of including this information in the Wikipedia article about Adela Demetja which is a personal attack on Demetja. The article which the editor refers to has no fact-based and quality journalism, there is no name of who has written the article and no reference from where were the information taken that are cited in the article. The cited article includes screenshots of communication between two other people involved in the conflict, but the name of Adela Demetja is dropped in with no specific evidence. Additionally even in the cited article there is no mention of physical assault taking place.

Finally the editor mentions that the event included in the article of Demetja has been denounced by international organizations for media freedom and gives this reference here ^[4] and ^[5] both this references do not mention Demetja.

Thank you for the request above.

I am inclined to agree with you that the subject of this article is only mentioned very briefly in the first of the sources and not at all in the other sources. The idea that the incident was "widely reported" is also unproven. The text in that one brief passing mention is insufficient to demonstrate significant involvement and on that basis I am happy to remove the material. I am unaware of the reliability of individual media sources within Albania but I am satisfied that removal is reasonable regardless of WP:RS considerations.

In the interests of balance I have also removed a significant amount of material which was entirely unsourced and material linked to a source which did not appear to mention the subject. I have therefore removed the 'verification needed' tag.

I have also added a 'notability' tag as it does not seem to me that the subject of this article passes WP:GNG.

The article is, I believe, now policy compliant although there simply remains the issue of notability which I will leave for others to consider at their leisure.

as I believe that the inclusion of the removed information was made by profiles who's intention is personal attack , and they might try to include the information again. how can that be prevented? thank you so much Starlighttru (talk) 10:27, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, if there is an attempt to reintroduce the material then we can certainly consider the possibility of introducing page protection.

If the material were to be re-introduced, however, I think it would be better to get a 2nd opinion from another volunteer before going down that route .
