The result of the move request was: Page was moved to "Adam Young (politician)" by BarrelProof on Aug 15. Consensus (not unanimous) not to move this to "Adam Young". No qualms for continued discussion outside the RM process about the primary topic. There's very rough consensus for "Adam Young" to be a dab page. So I'm swapping it with the new dab page. Adam young → Adam Young – CAPS for the only Adam Young with their own Wikipedia page Jax 0677 (talk) 15:51, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose: Disambiguation is about topics, not article titles. Having a separate article on a topic does not give it any special status. According to WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, "The fact that an article has a different title is not a factor in determining whether a topic is primary." It does not matter whether a topic is "the main topic of an article, or a subtopic covered by an article in addition to the article's main subject." The politician does not seem overwhelmingly more notable and important to readers than the Adam Young of Owl City or the Adam Young of Sockweb. In fact, notability has not been established by citations to reliable sources that provide in-depth discussion about the politician. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:38, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- Three more topics, in addition to the three discussed above:
- Young Broadcasting was founded by Adam Young in 1944, and "was an outgrowth of the ad representation firm Adam Young Inc."
- Mr. Young is a television series centered on a main character named Adam Young.
- Los Dregtones had a drummer named Adam Young. This seems to be a different Adam Young from the other two musicians.
- If there is a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Adam Young", it is probably the Owl City musician. The West Virginia politician certainly does not qualify as a primary topic. I have created a dab page at Adam Young (disambiguation). —BarrelProof (talk) 03:20, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose as notability looks dubious. Suggest moving to Adam Young (politician) instead and perhaps turning Adam Young into a dab page. PC78 (talk) 19:18, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- Support Only one subject and add a hatnote to Owl City. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:55, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, move to Adam Young (politician). Adam Young should be a DAB page; before it was converted into a redirect to Owl City it was getting 600~ hits a day. This guy is clearly not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the name. Nohomersryan (talk) 01:07, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. Adam Young should be a disambiguation page with no primary topic. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 14:57, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
