Correction

In the text the author wrote that Soccer teams in Italy don't fail. This isn't true, Fiorentina is failed in the summer 2002. Actual Fiorentina is a new, reborn society, founded in 2002 (when the old AC Fiorentina was under failure after controlled administration). Fiorentina was refused in Serie B because it doesn't own necessary money (was not failed yet.. only three months later)

I don't change that because my english isn't perfect.

Anglo-Italian cup

Associazione Calcio Fiorentina

"Associazione Calcio Fiorentina" was the old failed society. ACF was his acronym and was part of the team logo.

The new society (of Mr. Della Valle) took the name ACF Fiorentina, where ACF does not mean anything, as it was just a way to mantain the old football logo. Not at all slanted towards recent events

For some ludicrous reason there is a Wikipedia guideline message suggesting that the 'Delle Valle era' section is slanted towards recent events. He took over the club as new owner in 2002, where the section starts! The section only covers recent years because he has not been in charge of Fiorentina that long. Could someone remove that incorrect tag that is sitting on top of the section? p.s. Talking of huge updates, I emended the whole article earlier for grammar, so hopefully it reads somewhat better now. Perhaps someone could review it?

In so doing I shortened a small paragraph under History that didn't make sense: "The club reached Serie A for the first time in 1929. After a rough beginning and three seasons in lower championships, Fiorentina reached Serie A in 1931." It would appear that there was some sort of change to the Italian league structure around this time, but this was not clear; perhaps someone who is more familiar with the league's history (or knows enough Italian to work it out from the [equivalent Italian page], which contains far more detail on this) could expand this section to make it easier to understand. 24.22.208.181 (talk) 05:09, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I've been supporting Fiorentina since birth (the 60's) and Florence has been in the process of building a new stadium ever since. Data and History - This should be separated in two different entries

AC Fiorentina and ACF Fiorentina are not the same club. They are two different and unrelated societies, and as such, their data and history should be separated here in Wikipedia.

I don't understand why an historical club in Spain, Málaga, happens to have its data and history separated here in Wikipedia in the entries of CD Málaga and Málaga CF, while Fiorentina, which have the very same fate, has everything merged in this one single entry.(Mr Wesker (talk) 10:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC))

ACF Fiorentina is officially and legally recognized as the direct heir of AC Fiorentina. There are no AC Fiorentina fans and ACF Fiorentina fans, there are just Fiorentina fans. I don't know about Spain, but here in Italy it's not so uncommon to see football club declaring bankruptcy and then starting all over again, then returning back to the top flight (I can quickly remind of current Serie A teams Palermo, Napoli, Catania, Torino and Fiorentina all sharing this fate). --Angelo (talk) 10:10, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Chairman history

What happened after Della Valle family banned from football in 2006? It is odd that adding Andrea Della Valle resign. Matthew_hk tc 23:47, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

After 2006, nothing really happened: the ban was later significantly reduced to 8 months for Diego Della Valle and 13 months for Andrea Della Valle, but this did not prevent any of them from serving as club chairman, as far as I know. Andrea Della Valle resigned yesterday instead, but because of completely unrelated reasons (the family mentioned about a restructuring process in the Tod's family-controlled company, and disagreements with the Florence administration regarding the plans for a new stadium and a new training camp). --Angelo (talk) 07:19, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
