Rescue of 28 people

The 28 people were not all rescued from the sinking vessel. In fact, most waited for a very long time to be rescued. About ten people were on one of the safety rafts and got separated from the sinking ship due to winds and currents. They were lost at sea for about eight hours before finally being discovered by rescuers at around noon.
