Merger discussion
[edit]2024 Democratic Republic of the Congo flu outbreak should be merged into 2024 Kwango province disease outbreak. Both articles were created around the same time but the first title is incorrect because the disease has not been confirmed as influenza. Johndavies837 (talk)
- These are obviously the exact same topic, so I am merging them. Anyone is welcome to discuss the appropriate title, but it is inappropriate to continue to have duplicative overlapping pages. Reywas92Talk 21:19, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
PopularGames (talk) 21:37, 4 December 2024 (UTC) This article has less information than the other article, and if they want to discuss another name for the article that I created then they are free to do it, but I feel like this article should be merged with mine because it less information and I feel my article has more information than this article, and I am currently updating it with the information that I can find on other media.
- No, it does not matter one bit which page previously had more or less info, they were both just started on the same topic and were fairly similar. Now ALL of the info here, and you can add new info here. Do not say "mine" or "my article", you do not WP:OWN this, and moreover "your" article's title is wrong because it's not confirmed to be the flu. Please just build the content under this title. Reywas92Talk 21:44, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Strong feeling about not naming things that have no name - it is an unidentified disease. 5.150.196.100 (talk) 22:33, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
500km away is wrong.
[edit]I think that source has an error. The two towns (Kenge and Kikwit) are about 250km away from one another. And Kenge to Kinshasa is also 250km. I believe the person making the original claim was in the capital saying where Kikwit is 500km from Kinnshasa. Not how far the distance is the samples travelled. 5.150.196.100 (talk) 22:31, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Do you have a source saying that Kikwit, Kenge, and Kinshasa are respectively 250km away? Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 08:23, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Additional source
[edit]I just saw a new report released, but I don't have the time to look into it and work in the article today. If someone find it useful to improve the article, go ahead. :)

- Thanks, Arthurfragoso. I've put a bunch of information from that into the article. (I note it contradicted some earlier reporting in places. I've largely gone with this source as being more reliable. We should be weaning ourselves off journalism sources, as per WP:MEDRS.) Bondegezou (talk) 16:33, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
