- ... that an acid attack on a football player caused the Sultan of Selangor to be upset after the MFL tried to fine the club RM100,000 after they withdrew from the Piala Sumbangsih due to the attack?

- DYK was nominated the day of creation
- While the article is not long enough to be very informative, it does meet the DYK minimum.
- The sources appear to be generally reliable newspapers, including the ones that support the hook.
- The article plagiarizes from multiple sources.
- The article is not presentable. It needs significant copyediting and consists entirely of short one or two sentence paragraphs spread across several sections.
- The hook is very hard to read and doesn't make much sense, and the fact that someone was upset is not terribly interesting.
- KjjjKjjj, this article would essentially need a full rewrite before a successful DYK nomination, and it would need an entirely different hook. It's also worth noting that there are legitimate notability concerns as previously raised on the article's talk page. If I can make a suggestion, you might consider taking more care when writing articles instead of trying to create them as quickly as you can, and perhaps see if you can get someone with more experience writing in English to copyedit them before submitting them to DYK. More importantly, please don't copy wording from sources; review Wikipedia's copyright rules before doing any more editing. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 06:53, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not a news website
[edit]@KjjjKjjj: In case you have not read the guideline; Wikipedia is not a news website. Why is having a separate article about this crime needed for an encyclopedia? Wikipedia already has a biographical article about Faisal Halim, where this attack is already given some coverage. It also has an article about the 2024 Piala Sumbangsih where the attack is also mentioned. So why is a third article needed? - Cameron Dewe (talk) 19:38, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Cameron Dewe: I think this article is sufficiently notable per WP:NCRIME as there is many reliable sources I cited. KjjjKjjj (talk) 02:36, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- @KjjjKjjj: That may be so, but all the reports appear to be routine news reports all published within a short period of time. To be separately notable as an event there needs to be ongoing coverage over a longer period of time than the normal news cycle. Additionally, WP:CRIME advises against creating a separate article just for the crime if there is an existing article that can incorporate the content. In this case there are already two existing articles that include this same content, so having this third article, too, is redundant. See WP:REDUNDANTFORK. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 14:01, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Cameron Dewe: Faisal Halim is a Malaysian football player, I don't see how this article and Faisal Halim article is able to merge due to both being different topics. The article is also sufficiently enough for WP:PERSISTENCE. (1 2) Also and correct me if I'm wrong, what does WP:REDUNDANTFORK have to do with this? Best Regards, KjjjKjjj (talk) 14:27, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
