Requested move 29 December 2024

[edit]

2024 Central Queensland local electionsResults of the 2024 Queensland local elections in Central Queensland – Based of the title standard for pages like "Results of the 2022 Australian federal election in Queensland" I think this page and 2024 Darling Downs local elections should be moved back to their previous names. It's an article about the "2024 Queensland local elections" and any of the full results pages should fall as a sub-name if that makes sense.

Understand your rational @Klbrain - and completely honest I'll say I'm not stressed about this page name - but definitely prefer the other standard. Also tagging @TheTimeBombII as page creator for more consensus. Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 11:16, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support. I agree with moving the pages back to their previous names. As @Totallynotarandomalt69 mentioned, it follows the naming of similar pages. Additionally, local elections in other Australian states follow the same naming standard. For instance, Results of the 2024 Victorian local elections in Inner Melbourne and Results of the 2024 New South Wales local elections in Inner Sydney. I don't believe Queensland should be different. Oppose, the proposal being inconsistent with WP:CONCISE and with the names for other entries in Category:2024 Queensland local elections, which all use the more concise form. Klbrain (talk) 19:47, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The other entries use the more concise form because they refer to specific elections - Brisbane City Council, Gold Coast City Council etc
"Central Queensland" is just a region for results since they can't fit on one massive results page Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 23:42, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not seeing your point here; 2024 Queensland local elections is 'one massive area' that uses this concise format. Klbrain (talk) 23:09, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The "Queensland local elections" are one massive event and the "Brisbane City Council election" is one of the 77 elections held as part of it. Central Queensland/Darling Downs/all these other regions are not a unique in terms of their elections types held, these are just results pages per region (since they cannot fit on one page) and should be titled as "results" as they originally were Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 23:16, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support. The "Central Queensland local elections" are not a thing that exists. On the other hand, the "Queensland local elections" are a thing that exists. Steelkamp (talk) 16:02, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Steelkamp: I think that you might have missed something there ... we are indeed talking Central Queensland local elections. Klbrain (talk) 23:05, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I haven't missed anything. Steelkamp (talk) 11:30, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
