Deletion
[edit]Is there a consensus on deletion for this earthquake? It did not impact people and was in the middle of the ocean. I doubt there will be any media coverage in a week's time of this. I would nominate it for deletion and integration into the 2021 earthquakes list if i knew how to do so.Earthquake Maestro (talk) 04:09, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- You are the first person to suggest deletion. It's the biggest earthquake of 2021 so far, and typically an earthquake of this magnitude only happens about once a year, so I suggest it is worthy of an article. My stats are from List of earthquakes in 2021#Compared to other years. You can find instructions on how to nominate an article for deletion at WP:AFDHOWTO.-gadfium 04:40, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- The tsunami had a noteworthy impact in New Zealand, despite not causing any damage, because it's been decades since the country has had such a significant tsunami warning event, and in many ways it felt like the entire country was following the tsunami's progress along the coast. The tsunami has also spurred political discussion about the necessity of upgrading the tsunami warning network. It was a significant event for New Zealand, and therefore it's worthy of an article. - There should be a section on that then. Nixinova T C 01:34, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
