Nominees vs Candidates

I would question the use of the word "nominee" (as opposed to my preference, "candidate") in the infobox to describe the two candidates, Maria Cantwell and Susan Hutchison, who appeared on the Nov 2018 general election ballot. In Washington state, although political parties may endorse a candidate, the appearance of a candidate on the general election ballot is not based directly on any political party's endorsement or nomination. Rather, all candidates from all parties in a given race appear on a single primary election ballot. The top two candidates from the primary election qualify to have their names on the general election ballot. The two candidates can in some cases even be from the same party. The word "nominee" is more appropriate in other states where each party has a separate primary process to nominate their candidates. Absent any objection I will change "nominee" to "candidate" soon.
