If You're Reading This
[edit]I know that (at least for now) I'm kind of bending the "top 25" rule for "Other major hits", but I ask that an exception be made in the case of If You're Reading This. However, I ask that an exception be made in this case, since the song is highly notable for the ACM performance, and the unusual situation of the song's telecast charting.
Furthermore, I propose that any song that has an article should be included under "Other major hits", regardless of chart position. Otherwise, the Top 25 limit remains in place. Any other comments? Ten Pound Hammer • (((Broken clamshells • Otter chirps))) 15:35, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- As of the June 16 issue of Billboard magazine, I am happy to report that "If You're Reading This" has broken into the Top 25. [[Briguy52748 13:01, 7 June 2007 (UTC)]]
- Works for me. Unfortunately, it looks like he's taking a nosedive this week though. Ten Pound Hammer • (((Broken clamshells • Otter chirps))) 03:33, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Just my opinion, but I'd scarcely call any tune that tops out below #20 a "major" hit for any genre and I see quite a few in the listing here. GBrady 19:07, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Moments by EMERSON DRIVE
[edit]Am I the only one confused by this statement? "With this song, Emerson Drive became the first Canadian-based group to reach the top of the Billboard country charts, as well as the fifth Canadian-based country music act to do so. " If they are the first Canadian-based country group to have a U.S. #1 country hit, how can they also be the 5th act to do it? Unless what they really mean is they did it first with this song...and then later a different tune also reached #1 making them the 5th Canadian based country #1 ALSO. If that's what they mean, this needs a rewrite. I doubt this is the case because I also see the little "A" which says it means that this was the first #1 hit for the band. - The other four Canadian acts who hot #1 on the US country charts were all solo artists (Hank Snow, Anne Murray, Shania Twain, Terri Clark). Emerson Drive is the first group or band to do so. "Act" means any artist, whether solo or band. Ten Pound Hammer • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 00:25, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Other things
[edit]I think putting in at least part of the "Top 100" songs of the year (according to Billboard/R&R) would be a welcome addition to this page. I'd be willing to format the table for that.Spell4yr (talk) 14:59, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
