Stuka (disambiguation)
Appearance
Stuka, a German contraction of Sturzkampfflugzeug 'dive bomber', usually refers to the German Junkers Ju 87 dive bomber of World War II.
[incorrect. Sturz means 'to tumble' or 'fall' not 'dive' and kampf means 'battle' or 'fight' flugzeug means 'aircraft'. The English derivation may be loosely translated as 'dive bomber' but that's NOT what the Germans called it. It may have been designed for a different role but converted to diving with a bomb. Who knows? Not Wiki.]
