Plot summary

[edit]

Young 17-year-old Maja (Amanda Jansson) gets married against her will to fisherman Janne (Linus Troedsson). Her life on the island of Stormskerry (Stormskär) is full of challenges and adversities: as a fisherman's wife, she has to cope with her husband's long absences at sea and take care of her family alone. However, Maja has grown into a strong-willed and independent woman, who is not afraid to tackle the barren archipelago. Maja and Janne have a strong connection, and a love that has deepened over time as they face many challenges and upheavals, such as the Åland War, along the way. Janne supports his wife's efforts and understands that the strength of the family comes from joint efforts.[3][4]
