Softastur is a non-profit association, whose objective is the promotion of the Asturian language in new technologies, specifically in the field of Free Software.

Description

The association is made up of volunteers, mainly computer programmers, philologists, designers and teachers in the Asturian language. Softastur offers free technical support and documentation to free software users.

In 2008, Softastur received the Andrés Solar Award,[1] given by the Board for the Defense of the Asturian Language, for its work to include Asturian in new technologies, and especially for facilitating the availability of Ubuntu, the first operating system. in Asturian language.
