Smolany Dąb [smɔˈlanɨ ˈdɔmp], is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Krasnopol, within Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland.[3] It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) south of Krasnopol, 10 km (6 mi) west of Sejny, and 110 km (68 mi) north of the regional capital Białystok. The village lies on the Gremzdy lake.
From 1975-1998 the village was administratively governed by the Suwałki Voivodeship
History
[edit]In 1827 it was recorded that the population of the village numbered at 16 and 1 home and in 1889 it was numbered at 20 people and 5 homes[4].
