Career

PewDiePie vs T-Series

[edit]

Saiman Says rose to popularity during the PewDiePie vs T-Series feud. As a response to MrBeast putting up posters on billboards to encourage everyone to subscribe to PewDiePie, Saiman Says uploaded a parody video where he similarly endorsed T-Series.[2] He had only 5,000 subscribers at the time.[1] After PewDiePie responded to the video, he created another video to endorse PewDiePie.[3] By this time, he gained over 100,000 subscribers.[1]

In May 2019, after PewDiePie's diss tracks on T-Series, Bitch Lasagna and Congratulations were banned in India, Saiman Says travelled to Brighton to meet PewDiePie and collaborated on a video.[4] In the video, Saiman Says said that he never expected to meet PewDiePie and therefore had not planned of anything, to which PewDiePie replied that he wanted to try Indian snacks, thus starting an impromptu Indian Snacks Review.[5] At a time when the majority of Indian supported T-Series during the feud, Saiman Says even received many death threats and was called a "traitor to the country" for supporting PewDiePie.[6]

Tree Sena

[edit]

In January 2020, Saiman Says collaborated with Mission Green Mumbai's Subhajit Mukherjee to plant over 4,000 trees in the Aarey colony,[7] to compensate for the 2,000 trees that were felled during the construction of Mumbai Metro Line 3.[8] He created an organisation named Tree Sena to receive donations to plant trees, from which he was able to raise 6 lakh (equivalent to 7.5 lakh or US$8,900 in 2023).[9] Later, he conducted a meet-up with his fans in Mumbai, with whom he planted over 300 trees.[10]

On 26 January 2020, he collaborated with Tanmay Bhat on a charity stream titled Treemathon, where they and other streamers played Getting Over It with Benett Foddy for eight hours. In the end, they were able to raise over $5,000.[11]
