Richard John "Rich" Wolfenden (born March 1992) is a British radio broadcaster and sports commentator[1] known for his work with Radio X, BBC Sport, ITV, and Talksport.[2]

Early life and education

Wolfenden attended the University of Chester where he participated in student radio.[3] During his university years, he co-hosted The Student Radio Chart Show on The Cat Radio,[4] which won the Best Chart Show award at the Student Radio Association Awards.[5][6]

Career

Wolfenden started his career in broadcasting with commentating on Premier League matches for talkSPORT during his university years.[7] He then joined Radio X, where he has hosted Radio X Indie Night since 2020.[2][8] Later, he began contributing as a reporter to ITV's EFL Highlights and BBC’s Final Score.[9]

In March 2023, he joined other BBC employees in a temporary broadcast boycott in support of Gary Lineker.

Public service

In 2024, he participated in the London marathon to raise funds for Global's Make Some Noise,[10][11] a charity affiliated with Radio X.[12]
