proteanTecs is a technology company, specializing in deep data analytics. It develops predictive and preventative monitoring solutions for electronics throughout their lifecycle, from chip manufacturing to deployment.

History

[edit]

proteanTecs was founded by Shai Cohen, Evelyn Landman, Eyal Fayneh, Roni Ashuri, Yahel David, Yuval Bonen in May 2017 in Haifa, Israel.[1] The company publicly launched on April 1, 2019.[2][3] On August 27, 2020, it secured $45 million in funding, led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) and joined by Lip-Bu Tan, former CEO of Cadence and Intel board member.[4] In September 2020, proteanTecs was granted a U.S. patent for monitoring High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) signals, one of a number of patents held.[5]

In March 2021, the company joined the TSMC IP Alliance Program.[6][7] In October, proteanTecs received the TSMC OIP Partner of the Year Award for its contributions to the semiconductor industry.[8] In November, proteanTecs began supporting advanced 3 nm semiconductor technology and,[9] in December, received an award from Frost & Sullivan for Best Electronics Health Monitoring Technology.[10][11]

By 2022, the company had secured close to $200 million in funding, from investors including Porsche Automobil Holding SE, MediaTek, and Advantest.[12][13][14][15][16] In December 2022, it was named "Most Promising Startup in Israel" by the Globes newspaper.[17]

In March, the company joined the Intel Foundry Services Alliance and began working with BAE Systems to improve defense supply chains.[18] In February, it joined Arm's Total Design alliance to monitor ARM-based chips.[19]
