Nongtalang College was established in the year 1988 by the village council and people of Nongtalang. It 2017, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council accredited the college Grade B.
History
[edit]The people and village Durbar (Council) of Nongtalang established the college in 1988 to promote higher education in Nongtalang village in particular, and War-Jaintia area in general. This was done under the leadership of John Deng Pohrmen, former deputy chief minister of Meghalaya, and Chuidu Lyngdoh, headman Nongtalang village.
The College was registered under Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, XII of 1983 and recognised by the University Grants Commission. It was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in June 2017 with a Grade B.
