Newtopia (Korean: 뉴토피아) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Park Jeong-min and Jisoo. It is scheduled to premiere on Coupang Play in South Korea and Amazon Prime Video around 240 regions from February 7, 2025.

Development

Newtopia series was directed by Yoon Sung-hyun, who directed Bleak Night (2010) and Time to Hunt (2020), and the script was co-written by Han Jin-won, who wrote Parasite (2019), and Ji Ho-jin, who wrote A Shop for Killers (2024).[4] It was produced by Bound Entertainment and Billions Plus. It is based on the novel Influenza by author Han Sang-woon.[5]

The production of Newtopia was confirmed on August 7, 2024.[6]

Casting

In 2023, Jisoo, Park Jeong-min, and Kim Jun-han were reportedly considering to appear, respectively.[7][8][9]

On April 8, 2024, Hong Seo-hee was reportedly confirmed to appear.[10] On August 1, Coupang Play confirmed the casting for Park and Jisoo.[11]

Release

On December 11, 2024 Coupang Play has confirmed the drama is going to be premiered on February 7, 2025 on their OTT platform and Amazon Prime Video around 240 regions.[12][13]
