Munira Yasin Abdullahi (Somali: Munira Yaasiin Cabdilaahi; Arabic: منيرة ياسين عبد الله) is an American politician who is the representative for Ohio House District 9. She won the primary on August 2, 2022, and ran unopposed in the November 2022 general election.[1] She and Rep. Ismail Mohamed are the first two Somali American representatives in Ohio.[1] She is also the first Muslim woman to serve in the state house.[2]

Abdullahi's family left Somalia when she was three years old.[2] They moved to an apartment in the Northside neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio.[2] She has type 1 diabetes.[2] Abdullahi graduated from Columbus Alternative High School and completed a bachelor's degree in political science at Ohio State University.[1][2]
