Moses McKenzie

Moses McKenzie (born 1998) is a British writer. He is best known for his debut novel An Olive Grove in Ends which won both the Hawthornden Prize and the Somerset Maugham Prize, among a number of accolades.[1] His second novel Fast by the Horns appeared in 2024.[2]

Early life

McKenzie spent his early childhood in Cornwall[3] before moving to Bristol at age 7, where he grew up on Stapleton Road in Easton.[4] He is of Jamaican descent.[5] McKenzie attended St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English literature from the University of the West of England (UWE).[3]
