Mohannad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mohannad (also transcribed as Mohanad, Mohanned, Mohaned, Muhannad, or Muhanned; Arabic: مهند) is a masculine Arabic given name, meaning 'sword from India', originally a poetic reference to Muhammad. The name Muhannad is derived from Arabic الهند al-Hind 'India' and literally means 'Indian' or 'from India', but is used to refer to swords imported from India by Arabs. In 7th-century Arabia, swords made in India were considered the best swords.
