Makhambet District (Kazakh: Махамбет ауданы, romanized: Mahambet audany) is a district of Atyrau Region in Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is Makhambet.[3] Population: 32,104 (2013 estimate);[2] 29,167 (2009 Census results);[4] 26,559 (1999 Census results).[4]
Geography
[edit]Makhambet District is located in the central part of the Caspian Depression. The Ural river flows across it. Lake Zhaltyr is located in the district.[5][6]
