Little Fishes Preschool is a private Christian preschool established in 1993 in Orlando, Florida.[3][4] It is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and is accredited by the Christian Schools of Florida.[5][6][7]

Academics

[edit]

Little Fishes' utilizes a coeducational developmental approach based on a "Christian" curriculum.[8] The school primarily focuses on early literacy, math, and science skills.[6][9] Little Fishes promotes "American patriotism" and the "Biblical model" of traditional family values.[10] As of December 2024, there is a registration for a wait list.[11] The school is governed by The Little Fishes Preschool Advisory Committee.[1] It is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church Of The Lakes.[12] Little Fishes offers virtual learning options.[13][14]

History

[edit]

In 1999, Orange County Deputy Sheriff Paul Terry visited the school and interacted with students on behalf of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.[15] In 2005, Terry murdered his 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son before killing himself.[16][17][18] This incident would later lead to national demands to include domestic violence committed by law enforcement officers in modern police reforms.[19]
