^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They acknowledge several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.
Colin Farrell is an Irish actor who has received various awards and nominations, including three Golden Globe Awards and nominations for an Academy Award , a British Academy Film Award , and three Screen Actors Guild Awards .
Farrell made his film debut in The War Zone (1999), and his first lead role was in Joel Schumacher 's war drama Tigerland (2000), for which he was awarded the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor . For his role as Pádraic Súilleabháin in McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin (2022), Farrell earned his first nominations for the Academy Award , BAFTA Award , and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor. Farrell won several film critics' awards, as well as the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival and his second Golden Globe Award.
