Larry Elliott Watkins (September 4, 1947 – October 2, 2024) was an American politician. Elected to the Picayune, Mississippi city council in 1990, he won election as a Democrat to the Mississippi House of Representatives the following year. Despite Watkins winning election to a four-year term, a federal court panel mandated new redistricting and elections for every member of the state legislature in 1992, and he placed behind Republican nominee Mark Formby in a three-way race.[1] Watkins later returned to the city council, serving from 2001 to 2013.[2]
