The Lanka T10, also known as the Lanka T10 Super League, is a T10 cricket league in Sri Lanka that was launched and owned by T Ten Sports Management. The league was organized by Sri Lanka Cricket in partnership with the Abu Dhabi T10 league and was planned to start in December 2024. The matches are played with 10-overs-a-side and the duration of each match is approximately 90 minutes. The tournament is played in a round-robin format.[1][2][3][4][5]

History

[edit]

In June 2023, Sri Lanka Cricket announced the launch of inaugural Lanka T10 Super League that will host both a men's and women's tournament. The first season was scheduled to be played from 12 to 23 December 2023 in Colombo but was postponed due to financial issues.[6]

The inaugural edition of the Lanka T10 League began on 12 December and is scheduled to be completed on 22 December 2024 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. Originally planned for 2023, the tournament's rescheduled dates provide an optimal window for hosting a successful competition.[7]
