Katy Perry Collections is a line of footwear founded by American singer Katy Perry.

History

[edit]

The brand was founded by American singer-songwriter Katy Perry on February 16, 2017, when she partnered with Global Brands Group. The idea for Katy Perry Collections came from Perry's passion for creativity and self-expression. Known for her eclectic and eye-catching style, Perry wanted to create a brand that reflected her personality while being accessible to a broad audience. Some inspirations for founding it are Perry's Dalmatian-print pair of flats that she thrifted and her refusal to wear uncomfortable pumps.[1]

Perry bought back the line in 2022 after the holding company filed for bankruptcy in 2021. Perry is currently the sole owner.[2] Afterwards, Perry relaunched the brand with the Summer/Spring 2022 Collection in the same year.[3] She followed it by launching a collection called the Fall/Winter Part 2.[4]

Reception

[edit]

The brand has been praised for its design and affordability.[5] Additionally, customers reacted positively to the shoe's comfort and wearability.[5]
