Johan Ferreira is a mining executive and engineer. He served as the president of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.[1][2][3]

Education

Ferreira holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree from the University of Pretoria.[4] Additionally, he holds a certified financial planner qualification, an MBA, and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.[5]

Career

Ferreira began his mining career with Anglo American in 1986. From 2005 to 2011, he served as general manager of the Moab Khotsong and Great Noligwa gold mines. He was subsequently appointed senior vice president of South Africa operations for AngloGold Ashanti.[6]

In 2014, Ferreira joined Newmont Mining Corporation in Ghana as Regional Group Executive Operations and was promoted to regional senior vice president - Africa Region, assuming executive responsibility for the region.[7][8] During his tenure in Ghana, Ferreira served as the President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines from May 2014 to January 2016.[9][10] In June 2017, Ferreira was appointed head of African operations and managing director at Cupric Canyon Capital.[11][12] He has also served as a director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ghana.[13]
