Jeff Hardeveld (born 27 February 1995) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Eerste Divisie club Telstar.
Club career
[edit]Hardeveld began his football career playing in the youth system of Vitesse Delft before joining the Feyenoord academy, starting with the under-8s.[2] In early 2014, he was named on the bench for Feyenoord's first team during a home match against NEC.[3]
In 2014, Hardeveld signed with Utrecht,[4] where his time was marred by injuries.[5] He made his professional debut on 20 December 2014, in an Eredivisie match against AZ, featuring in 15 matches that season.[6][7] However, injuries restricted him to just one official appearance the following season.[8] Despite his struggles, Utrecht extended his contract, showing faith in his potential.[9]
After returning from a severe knee injury in March 2016, Hardeveld was forced to withdraw at halftime during a KNVB Cup match against VVSB, requiring surgery that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.[10] In August 2016, another setback prolonged his rehabilitation by an additional 12 months.[5]
On 27 July 2017, Hardeveld signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional season with Heracles Almelo in July 2017.[11]
On 29 June 2021, he moved to Emmen on a two-year contract with an option for the third year.[12]
On 2 September 2024, Hardeveld joined Eerste Divisie club Telstar.[13][14] He made his debut for the club on 8 September, replacing Devon Koswal in the 68th minute of a 4–0 win over MVV.[15][16]
International careeer
[edit]Hardeveld is a Dutch youth international.[17]
Personal life
[edit]In 2022, he started dating Dutch referee Shona Shukrula.[18] They married in June 2023.[19]
