Jay'viar Suggs is an American college football defensive tackle who most recently played for the LSU Tigers. He previously played for the Grand Valley State Lakers.

Early life

Suggs attended Clarkston High School. Coming out of high school, Suggs decided to commit to play college football for the Division II Grand Valley State Lakers.[1][2]

In Suggs' first three seasons in 2019, 2020, and 2021, he would redshirt and his 2020 season would be canceled, resulting in Suggs not recording any stats.[3][4] During the 2022 season, Suggs would breakout where tallied 21 tackles with seven being for a loss, three sacks, five pass deflections, and a forced fumble.[5] In the 2023 season, Suggs notched 23 tackles with seven and half going for a loss, and five sacks.[6] For his performance in 2023, Suggs was named second team all-conference.[7] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, Suggs decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[8][9]

Suggs finished his career at Grand Valley State, totaling 42 tackles with being for a loss 14.5 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and nine passes defended.[10]

LSU

Suggs decided to transfer to play for the LSU Tigers.[11][12]

On December 11, 2024, Suggs announced that he would enter the transfer portal.[13]
