Jay'viar Suggs is an American college football defensive tackle who most recently played for the LSU Tigers. He previously played for the Grand Valley State Lakers.
Early life
[edit]Suggs attended Clarkston High School. Coming out of high school, Suggs decided to commit to play college football for the Division II Grand Valley State Lakers.[1][2]
College career

[edit]In Suggs' first three seasons in 2019, 2020, and 2021, he would redshirt and his 2020 season would be canceled, resulting in Suggs not recording any stats.[3][4] During the 2022 season, Suggs would breakout where tallied 21 tackles with seven being for a loss, three sacks, five pass deflections, and a forced fumble.[5] In the 2023 season, Suggs notched 23 tackles with seven and half going for a loss, and five sacks.[6] For his performance in 2023, Suggs was named second team all-conference.[7] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, Suggs decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[8][9]
Suggs finished his career at Grand Valley State, totaling 42 tackles with being for a loss 14.5 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and nine passes defended.[10]
LSU
[edit]Suggs decided to transfer to play for the LSU Tigers.[11][12]
On December 11, 2024, Suggs announced that he would enter the transfer portal.[13]
