History

Denmark has qualified for international ice hockey tournaments since 1949, starting with the World Championships in Stockholm.

National team

A longtime force at the IIHF World Championships, the Denmark men's national ice hockey team made their first Olympic appearance at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Notable players

Frans Nielsen, standout for the Detroit Red Wings is considered one of the greatest NHL players ever. He is one of many Danish ice hockey players who have had successful careers in the National Hockey League. Other prominent players for Denmark include Jannik Hansenand Lars Eller.
