The Huacaybamba Province is one of eleven provinces of the Huánuco Region in Peru. The capital of this province is the city of Huacaybamba.

Geography

Political division
[edit]The province is divided into four districts, which are:
Ethnic groups
[edit]The people in the province are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (78.86%) learnt to speak in childhood, 20.45% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[2]
